Things Rick Has Learned

The Golden Rule (Of Rick):

Everybody is just doing what’s right by them.

That’s it. Remember that, and you’ll always be able to understand folks.

Section name is gonna go here eventually

  • Always communicate what you’re thinking. You never know if someone might be thinking the same thing, or if they might need to hear a solid objection to their ideas
  • Intelligence is not individual. Intelligence is artificial

Respectfully Arguing is a Good Thing

  • You should never want to be right. We argue to learn, not to win. The opportunity to get better is the best result you can ever hope for. Being right is just paying that benefit forward to other people.
    • TODO: How do sub-bullet points. The button that looks like it should do it does nothing on Safari for iPadOS using a physical keyboard and trackpad. Smh I hate websites lol.
  • Your goal in every argument should be to find a way that you’re wrong. If you’re right, you gained nothing from the conversation. If you’re wrong, you now get to be right, and thus you improved as a person.
  • If you do end up being right, then that’s your good deed for the moment because you helped someone else be right. Now immediately drop it. Maybe thank them.
